about

"Monotonia" is an acoustic project inspired by James J. Gibson coined term "Affordance" - what the environment offers the individual.

It is part of my long-term field recording study about continuous, lack of change sounds - the relationship between objects and the environment, the sonification of different surfaces. Sometimes the „protagonist“ in the recording is very outstanding, sometimes it prefers to hide its individuality.

I think it is really enjoyable, to observe, to find out, to record, then to hear and to perceive them - how the world built up with these monotounous sounds, and how we unconsciously accept it, affect from it, finally become a part of our memories.

In this project i prefer to be the observer. The sound events are naturally found and i just make sonic documentation of their existence. I respect them, they just so adorable happened.
